My name is Michelle Pepin and I am the founder of Picking Up the Pieces. This organization was founded after the passing of my son, Ian. He was in recovery and working a program while trying to re-establish himself. Our family was very proud of the ‘time’ that he had under his belt which was roughly 18 months, and for Ian, he was proud too. I turned my pain into a purpose, advocating for the underserved, while educating parents and youth alike of the dangers of substance abuse. We also conduct a Harm Reduction program that allows those in active addiction to use safely until they see their silver lining. Our main drive is recovery, but we see the benefits of having a HR program. Our mission is to preserve life at whatever cost. I lost one child to addiction, while watching my other child beat hers, so I know in my heart that recovery is possible.
